About me

Studying psychology at the universities of Freiburg im Breisgau and Basel, and through various internships I have gained broad experience in neuropsychology and biological psychology, and then specialized in the field of molecular psychology for my PhD - researching the genetics and epigenetics of post-traumatic stress disorder and its successful therapy. I later worked as a psychologist at Asklepios Fachklinikum Teupitz, where I expanded my therapeutic knowledge on diverse disorders; and subsequently continued deepening my practical experiences through outpatient work in Berlin. The focus of my work is cognitive behavioral therapy, supported by schema therapy and trauma-specific treatment elements (Narrative Exposure Therapy). Starting in 2024, I am offering therapy in my own practice and online.

Services

I offer psychotherapy for individuals experiencing acute life crises, such as break-ups, job losses, personal tragedies, and physical illnesses; and also focus on the treatment of depression, anxiety disorders (specific phobias, panic disorder, agoraphobia, social anxieties, etc.), obsessive-compulsive disorders, trauma-related disorders (posttraumatic stress disorder etc.), somatoform disorders, as well as personality disorders and personality accentuations.

I am offering psychotherapy for self-paying individuals, privately insured patients, and those insured under the cost reimbursement procedure of a public health insurance (for further information see the Guidelines for Reimbursement of Therapy by the BPtK).

Philosophy

"What is important is not what happens to us, but how we respond to what happens to us."
(Jean-Paul Sartre)

To acknowledge the burdens to which we have been or still are exposed is important in my psychotherapeutic practice, as well as to validate the complexity of the resulting difficulties we have to deal with, sometimes without having caused them ourselves. At the same time, I would like to encourage and support you in not simply surrendering to these challenges of life. The goal of our common therapeutic journey should be to explore possible solutions or to foster acceptance and constructive coping mechanisms with situations that may be difficult to change.
